The Emerson Flute, made by Conn-Selmer, Inc. Has a database on line to reference your serial number. According to their website, if you take the first digits of the serial number and add 50, you'll get the year manufactured.
I am relatively new to the flute (some noodling around on the Irish flute), and just won at auction an Emerson ELD. *The seller said the pads were okay (check), as was the case (check), it had some scratches on the headjoint (yes, oh well), but he could not find the serial number. *If I'm reading it right it's 13401. *And there is a single number 1 on the other side of the body. *How old is this thing? *Quite, quite playable.
*The ELD designation seemed to encompass a whole range of Emerson flutes from student to artist. *I don't know. *Can someone help me date the instrument, tell me what it might be made of? *It sounds gorgeous, far nicer than the flute I tried about two years ago.
Hello Bruce, Just got a question on pending in what is better, as I saw 2 second hand flutes advertisement sellings. Emerson Model 10, serial number 10 735 7, similar to what you described as 'That would be a model 10 with sterling body, head, keys, posts, closed holes etc. It probably was made in the 1982-97 period with a $1000 USD price tag', or armstrong 80b (sterling body and head, with sterling plated keys, B foot, gold liped plated, E mechanism, open holes), that has just been recently maintained at the shop with receipt dated August 2011. Soo which of these 2 would you prefer to get. Armstrong priced at $450, whilst the emerson flute priced at like around the $300 mark but the seller says they havnt maintained the flute since mid 2010, but barely used.
Just wondering what is easier to use and what item is better to buy? Was looking into the Armstrong 80b as the item as it is listed as medium to professional level.
There's nothing wrong with the DVD drive, all our other CD (Sims 2) and DVD works on the drive. This is actually my 2nd time installing this game. Sims 3 caches sunset valley objectcache download pc.
But yeah ADVICE PLEASE COns and pros as this is my first flute I am going to buy, and i dont really have more money to pay for other flutes. Yesterday, I picked up an Emerson flute at a thrift store for my son.
I'm sure it will need new corks and pads. The logo is like the one in the original pic here, so it is the older logo, I guess. The serial number is D 71092 and the number under that is 2. Will this make a good learner flute? He is 9 and I don't would hate for it to get damaged if it is an expensive horn.
We also picked up a Bundy at the same time so if it would make a better learner then I would rather start him out on it. Again, it needs new corks but it will be good for him to learn to refurbish it himself. We homeschool and tend to self teach everything. Thanks for any advice.
